YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE FIRST TO MARKET

You don’t have to be first to market with your idea, your business, your book, your product, service, your social media, your art or anything that you’re creating. ⁣⁣⁣⁣First is irrelevant. ⁣⁣

This is as much a reminder note for me as it is for anyone this is relevant to. ⁣⁣⁣⁣You don’t have to be first to market.

You don’t have to be first to market with your idea, your business, your book, your product, service, your social media, your art or anything that you’re creating. ⁣⁣⁣⁣First is irrelevant. ⁣⁣

Often I feel like I’m racing, because I have this feeling time is running out before I will get to the ideas and vision for the business I’ve had for years; not so I can be first but because I become impatient that executing on the dream ideas seem to take so long against life, parenting, client service, health things, and just snags always popping up. ⁣

Can you relate?

When I recently told someone about how for 9 years and since rara’s 2011 start, I’ve wanted to create DIY PR products to support PRs; she told me someone was already doing it.

Here I was excited to be finally making progress on the passion project; that had been one of the main reasons rara was created. Our foundational ethos – to support PR people better than I had ever been supported.

To protect them in ways I hadn’t been protected. To share all that we know to make their PR world peaceful.

It’s only been a decade dream and here they were just doing it with might and power and having pivoted in a matter of Covid weeks.


But it doesn’t matter if someone else is creating what you’re creating. There are never two YOUs. Your version isn’t out there yet. What you create will be perfect for someone at the time you’re ready to make it in the way you see it being made. 

You don’t have to be first to market. 

One of the gifts of the Covid experience so far has been moments of protected time to create the things I’ve always wanted to create. 


Those DIY products are coming!! 

I don’t know when exactly; I can already feel normal life creeping in. But it doesn’t matter. I wont be first. But when they arrive they’ll be just the way I imagined. And I can’t wait to share them with anyone that needs them.

They’ll be perfect for someone like me who would’ve loved to have had better tools, more support, accessible knowledge, a mentor and boundaries to protect myself better in this wonderful, wild world of PR that everyone can benefit from knowing more about and implements against all that they are creating.
