PART 2: CELEBRATING TEN
This is not the ‘raraPR turns ten’ article I thought I’d be writing.
I imagined that by rara’s tenth year that I’d be introducing the places, people and faces behind the brand.
“Hey, meet our wonderful team, we added one for every year!”
These are the people who make it all happen. Topped with a raging big party, gifts and thanking everyone who has ever contributed positively to the raraPR story so far.
The Covid-19 mis-adventures of 2020 and the residual damage in 2021, has in equal parts flattened dreams while protecting, accelerating and amplifying others.
Covid, much like small business (and parenting for that matter) is what I like to call beautifulhard. Yep, one word, #beautifulhard.
Just as beautiful and all of the wonderful things, not mutually exclusive from the challenges and stressors that come with it all, often in the same minute.
This past year and a half has been what I would call a recalibration of sorts. Things are a cha-cha-cha-changing. Because if there was any one industry that best prepares you to adapt to change; it’s public relations! We go where the people flow and that means changing communications strategies every year, month and day (*hello Clubhouse and Greenroom).
And that’s ok. Because sometimes the dreams we make and hold for ourselves, expire and are in conflict with the truth and tenderness of our intimate and rightful reality.
raraPR has become a story about much more than the usual birthday milestone business news – big team, big business and the heroes’ journey. That’s not us. It never was.
Celebrating TEN is the greatest opportunity to escape the restraints of what a professional PR business should look and sound like. raraPR was never meant to be like all the others. EVER.
Just like we evolve, so too should our business goals.
Our surrounds these days are definitely a little bit more fancy – we’ve cartwheeled from the tiny rented bedroom from the 2011 and 2012 era to a renovated, and custom fit-out studio. Aka the bunker, the posh garage, the magic room.
And while the WHY of raraPR has never changed – accessible PR in a kind environment with PR powers put consciously to good use – that won’t change, but how we bring it all to life absolutely has and will always evolve.
And DIY PR is coming. I simply can’t wait to bring it life for you. It’s close. PR BY YOU. Almost at your fingertips!
I’m so grateful you’re with me. And I invite you to continue joining along the raraPR ride for a bunch of TEN celebrations that will show up here and via the newsletter and blog.
This is an exciting new chapter; where we will be purposefully and mindfully protecting ourselves from misfit PR adventures and moving forward with all that was intended for this business for me and for you and for us, together.
Thank you for being here.
