Should You Say Text or Texted?

Holy shit, did you just hear someone say texted?! Then starts the internal debate – is it text or texted? Let us tell you once and for all the answer is…(drum roll please)… text NEVER texted!

Like the word ‘put’, text is an irregular verb not a regular verb. This is because it refers to past action. Sadly for us stiff upper (wordy) lips, if enough people use it, over time it will end up landing a place in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) as a revised word entry and officially become a word within the English language (*sigh).  Until then… you heard it here people.

Now that we’ve got that cleared up, may you go forth and communicate your heart out safe in the knowing that you are correct sir.
